Jockey was trapped under fallen horse. Horse had to be anesthetized in order to extract jockey, so then had to wait some time for the horse to come around before it could be led (very gingerly) off the track and back to the stables. Cross fingers for both.

thats good news, i assumed (wrongly) that they were getting ready to euthanise it. fortunately not.

Absolutely ridiculous, 18:12 at Southwell, ever the ancient Egyptians knew what time the sun set, and here we are in 2024, the three last hurdles are omitted down the back straight because of the setting sun.

I agree we are limited in December, January and February somewhat, but we are in May, start the meeting an hour earlier or so, we would have no problem.

BHA are a bunch of w**kers, we cannot be in the 21st century praying for the rain god to make it cloudy to block the sun.

Easiest way to sort it is scrap summer jumps, it's absolutley crap. I love horse racing but a 3 mile chase in the middle of August on good to firm is just pure stupidity.

Betty Baloo fell shortly after the off. As the horses were coming round after the first circuit they were directed to pull up as Betty Baloo was receiving treatment near the winning post.

So today a piece of automation that I didn't think would work in a million years- worked. It depends on folks greed. And my goodness it didn't disappoint.
I didn't think it would even fire.
I'm quite pleased.

It's quite funny.

I am looking at Sky Sports Racing tonight because it's the Preakness Stakes at Pimlico, and I like to listen to the pundits views.

I always watch horseraces from Betfair live feeds to gauge when the off will be, the race itself I have no interest in, and switch to a different market when my trades have finished.

So waiting for the American racing, I am watching the last couple going in at Doncaster in the 8.50pm race on Sky Sports Racing and I have already stopped trading a few minutes or so before on Betfair. The race was already over before it started on Sky Sports Racing. I understand a few seconds delay but.
