Hi,
For all those successful traders out there...what would you say was a good strike rate per horse race you trade, or what do you average, i.e 10% return on stake per race? and how many trades would you estimate you make per race, both scalping, and swing trading......

thanks.

Maybe you should start a poll then people can vote on what they think is a good strike rate? You may want to qualify it, your style as strike rates will be high for scalpers and lower for swingers and in between if you do both.

I'm a discretionary trader and I like to trade whatever I see. So strike rate entirely depends on the race at hand. Every race is different and you can't "create" opportunities.

I might be on my own here but.......

I don't think strike rate matters. It's about protecting your bank and gaining profit. Any profit is good profit.

If you make 10 trades and lose a tenner 9 times but win 300 on the tenth. That's better than winning a tenner 9 times and losing 300 on the tenth.

Does that make sense?
